Redmi K20 Pro Teased As World’s Fastest Smartphone Ever: 5 Things You Need To Know
|Redmi K20 Pro is the fastest smartphone|
The Redmi K20 Pro India launch is probably one of the most awaited and much hyped, and finally the first teaser is out. Interestingly Xiaomi has claimed it to be the world’s fastest smartphone beating all the top flagships available in the market.
The upcoming K20 smartphones have a regular Redmi K20, and the top-end Redmi K20 Pro.
The Redmi K20 series India launch was confirmed just after the China launch last month. The K20 smartphones will go official in India in the second week of July followed by online availability in a week or so.
Redmi K20 Pro: World’s Fastest Smartphone?
The first Redmi K20 Pro India launch teaser claimed that its going to be the fastest smartphone in the world. Previously, a leaked AnTuTu test of a Xiaomi Redmi K20 Pro device running on 6GB RAM and 64GB storage was seen with a score of 3,88,446 points. It’s still unauthorised, and the final scores are not known officially yet.
In comparison, the current AnTuTu listing has OnePlus 7 Pro on top, the fastest smartphone in the world (excluding iPhones). It stands with 3,73,953 points.
As far as two scores are concerned, yes, it’s the Redmi K20 Pro which beats OnePlus 7 Pro to be the fastest smartphone in the world.
Even in previous leaks, the company GM has repeatedly claimed that Redmi K20 Pro is going to be faster than the company’s current flagship Mi 9, which stands at number 2 in the AnTuTu list after OnePlus 7 Pro.
Can Redmi K20 Pro Be The Fastest Smartphone On Earth?
On the AnTuTu listing, yes, it can. The previous unconfirmed leaks of the AnTuTu test of Redmi K20 Pro already pushes it to the top of the all the Android flagships available in the world. The company will be launching the same device as Mi 9T in other markets, and again it will beat the current best in the world, OnePlus 7 Pro.
Redmi K20 Pro packs in all the latest features and specs, and it’s definitely possible for it to be the next fastest smartphone in the world.
OnePlus 7 Pro and Redmi K20 Pro both are powered by the best Qualcomm processor in the market, the octa-core Snapdragon 855 with up to 12GB of RAM and the well-improved Adreno 640 GPU.
Taking A Dig At OnePlus: Redmi, The New Flagship Killer?
OnePlus has been the flag bearer for killing flagships for the last few years. While it moved itself on the chain this year to target the more-premium flagship market, Xiaomi wants to cash in on the opportunity to be the next flagship killer.
The company previously made a successful attempt with Poco F1, and now Redmi K20 Pro directly challenges the likes of OnePlus 7 Pro.
Interestingly, Redmi K20 Pro and OnePlus 7 Pro share a lot in common.
OnePlus 7 Pro does have a better smartphone overall, but Xiaomi would be offering the best of the premium priced flagship features at almost half the price with Redmi K20 Pro in India.
What About The Regular Redmi K20?
The Redmi K20 will launch alongside Redmi K20 Pro in India. The smartphone will target the sub-20,000 segment challenging newly launched Galaxy M40, already available Vivo V15, Galaxy A50 and upcoming Realme X. The regular Redmi K20 should start at somewhere around 18,000 or 19,000 rupees in the country.
Realme will be launching its Realme X during the same time directly targeting Redmi K20.
Redmi K20 runs on the new Snapdragon 730, and the Indian variant of the Realme X is also expected to come with the same Snapdragon 730 chip. Realme X launched with Snapdragon 710 in China.
Both Redmi K20 and Realme X pack in almost similar features except for a less rear camera sensor and different processors.
Taking The Flagship Challenge To The Next Level
Xiaomi’s first Redmi K20 Pro India launch teaser says “Somebody jus+ announced the world’s fastest phone… Oh really? Hold my AnTuTu..” The company is clearly targeting OnePlus here, and its Redmi K20 Pro will certainly be targeting both the OnePlus 7 flagships, the regular OnePlus 7 and the top-end OnePlus 7 Pro.
Redmi K20 Pro starts at around Rs 25,000 (converted), and this beats both the OnePlus 7 models in India in terms of pricing.
Now with Redmi K20 Pro being the fastest smartphone in the world and costing much less than both the OnePlus 7 models, the flagship smartphones will have a hard time justifying their high price in the country.
Previously Poco F1 did great damage to OnePlus 6T. The company was later forced to launch the successor, OnePlus 7 at a cheaper price than the predecessor. Things don’t seem to be working on the favour of OnePlus for now, at least in the entry-level premium market.
Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro will launch in India in the second week of July.
